Problem:
This company thought they were saving money by storing their archive in a Self Storage Unit. A ten minute drive each way and up to an hour to find the relevant box in a dark dungeon by the company Financial Director. The dangers of Lone Working meant that a second person had to accompany the Director to the Self Storage Unit stopping two people from doing their job.
Solution:
Humphreys collected the archive boxes, bar-coded them and sent the Financial director a list of the unique reference number for each of the companies boxes allowing retrieval back to the garage within 24 hours of an email request.
Outcome:
A 40% saving was made on the Self storage account alone. Removing the out of office time by the Director and her colleague more than covered any retrieval charges.
